Some of you may know and some of you may not, but a little less than a month ago I went and shot for the band Tenth Avenue North. It was my first concert photographing and it was amazing. These guys have been my favorite band for several years. Every single one of the men in this band is so genuine and heartfelt and proclaims Christ through their lives. I love their music and have a been a huge fan for years. About a month ago they asked for media volunteers so I submitted. Much to my surprise, they actually chose me out of a few thousand people! Talk about crazy. I was beyond excited. I’ve been to several of their concerts through the years but this was the first time photographing one. I drove a few hours to the concert in Anderson and met up with Jay, another photographer they had chosen. We hung out with David Niacaris, the drummer for Hawk Nelson and a very talented photographer. The three of us shot during the night together and it was so much fun. The band started out with a VIP session, donuts were handed out, questions were answered and songs were sang. After that the concert kicked off with the very talented and humble Jon Mclaughlin. This guy is an amazing piano player. It was the first time seeing him in concert and I was in awe. After him was Mr. Brandon Heath. I’ve been a huge fan of his for years so it was cool seeing him at the concert as well. Tenth Ave North took the stage after that and killed it, as always. It was an amazing night of worship and I’m so blessed and grateful I was able to be a part of it. A huge thanks to Tenth Ave North for allowing me to be there, to David and Jay for hanging out with me and giving me a good time, and to Hannah, the TAN media director who organized everything. She’s a talented woman herself, keeping all these men in line and organized. If you haven’t listened to these guys before, give them a listen! Their music will change your hearts.
“You can’t live for God until you learn how to live because of God. And you can’t go and make good choices for God until you understand the gospel that says the choices you make don’t make you who are, what Christ has done for you makes you who you are.” – Mike Donehey, leader singer of Tenth Avenue North
P.S – If you’re a fan of Christmas music, these guys just released a new album with each song featuring a different decade. Check out Decade The Halls here.
